“Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.”

“Change is the only constant”

So after 8 years at my job, I gave my two weeks notice today.

I feel refreshed, excited and scared all at the same time.
I need change, it was bound to happen sooner or later, so why not now...why wait another 8 years?!
I'm ready to embrace the change!
Looking forward to focusing on something I am more passionate about.
Focus more on my vintage shop and maybe even finish school!

Any suggestions you ladies may have on change?

Good Beautiful Things

Have you heard of OperationBeautiful?
If you haven't I suggest you check it out!

found via icanread

The goal of the Operation Beautiful website is to end negative self-talk or “Fat Talk.” If this little blog only does one productive thing, I hope it helps readers realize how truly toxic negative self-talk is — it hurts you emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

Through my own experiences fighting Fat Talk, I’ve realized the power behind an anonymous act such as Operation Beautiful. When I post a note, I’m saying, “I CHOOSE to be positive!”
I began Operation Beautiful by leaving positive messages on the mirrors of public restrooms — at work, at the gym, at the grocery store. I scribble down whatever comes to mind — "You are beautiful!" or "You are amazing just the way you are!" My personal goal is to leave as many Operation Beautiful notes as I can. Maybe some people read them and just smile, but I bet some people are truly touched by the effort of a random stranger.

So to all my sweet readers and those who just came across this blog, you are beautiful every day!
I think I may leave a post it in the ladies room of my work, good random place!

Olive Green purse on Etsy at thiscouldbeyou

Military Chic Look for the Fall, I'm lovin' it.
Maybe because I was an ROTC nerd in high school.

Yesterday I was trying on a vintage olive green dress with gold piping that I can't wait to wear in the Fall.
My husband said it looked to big..."To big" I said..."the waist barely fits!"
So I'm keeping it and hoping I don't gain more weight on my waist till after I wear it, at least once!

Travel: Santorini, Greece

The above pictures were our view from the cave home we stayed in the city of Oia, the Caldera of Santorini.
I highly recommend to stay in a cave home for at least one night, what a great experience!

I love the curves and straight lines in the picture above. So crisp.

Pancakes with Honey for breakfast. ***DROOOOOL! I could have eaten this everyday!

Churches like these all over the island!
Sunset in Oia. So stunning!
Friendly Cats and Dogs everywhere.
Sunset cruise was amazing and relaxing!

Heaven on Earth!
The food is amazing, so fresh. The people are kind, the wine is flowing and life is just the way it should be while your there, nothing but relaxing!

Hope you all have a great weekend sweets! Anything fun planned this weekend?
I have a wedding tonight and a thrifting adventure with some amigas tomorrow :)

Monday Movie Flashback to the 80's - Overboard

So I was flipping through the T.V. last week and came across the
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel movie

Let me just say....SEQUIN and OVER THE TOP OUTFIT 80's Love!
Goldie Hawn's character had some amazing sequin pieces throughout the beginning of the movie
and some snip-its through out.
Minus the scenes where she is wearing clothes that is way to big for her.
If you haven't watched the movie or ever heard of it, watch it.
Not the best movie, but I loved watching the outfits, it took me back to my childhood memories.

Military Chic gold tassel bold shoulders.
This was actually a nude back swimsuit, zebra print on front.

What are some of your favorite outrageous 80s looks?
I loved the sequin dresses, big shoulder pads, stiletto heels, big frizzy hair and bright make up!
I remember watching my mom get ready and how fun it looked to dress up and put on your make up.

Atlantis Books in Santorini

Atlantis Books was one of our stops in Santorini, Greece, located in Oia (the O is silent).
They were very friendly and we kind enough to let us take pictures.
We even bought a book.
This picture is just a tease of the rest of the Greece pictures I will have up this week.

I love the old trunk with books in it.

As you walk in, all you see and smell are books!

Great idea- A themed bundle!

The domed ceiling as you walk in.

More books!

There was a bed in one of the top corners.
How cool would that be to live, work and breathe books. I mean if that's a passion of your, why not.
p.s. I love the way old books smell, I know I'm weird.

I am currently reading The Graveyard, by the same author who wrote the book Coraline, which they made into a movie. My husband finished and handed it over and it's fantastic.
I don't read to often, maybe it's because I can never really find a good book...
anything good you might be reading or can suggest?

Rome Vacation in a few pics

Our first sight was The soon as we stepped off the tube.

Pretty amazing...there were ruins everywhere.

We visited Giolitti for some I discovered on Passport Glamour's blog, that this was
the place to go for the best gelato.
Also Audrey Hepburn filmed a scene inside of Giolitti for The Roman Holiday.

There was a line, but totally worth it.

Pistachio, melon and nicochi (nut) flavored gelato. YUMMM.

We made a wish at theTrevi Fountain.

Stopped near the Spanish Steps.

The Vatican City on an early Sunday morning.

Inside the Vatican. My suggestion if you decide to visit, to avoid lines go early in the morning.
We did and had no problem with lines and even got to attend Sunday Mass.

Our view from our seats during Sunday Mass.

In front of The Vatican before catching our next flight out.

We visited Rome for a day and a half. We saw most of the major sites in that time.
It was hot and I would love to do it again, but maybe when it's a bit cooler.
Europe was having a heat wave while we were vacationing.

Ciao Roma! Leaving Rome and the next stop is Santorini, Greece.
I hope to have those pictures up soon.
