Vegas

Leaving tomorrow night for Vegas and I'm pretty excited!
Haven't been in about 6 years and I know it's changed a bit.
My husband is coming, and it is our first time in Vegas together as well, so I'm looking forward to it.
I wanted to layout by the pool and catch some rays, but seems the weather may still be a bit chilly, I hope that changes.
I made reservations to go visit the Boneyard aka the Neon Museum.
I did some research and found out this is a really cool spot to check out.
I think I will be in heaven for 2 hours, gawking at these vintage massive Las Vegas neon signs from back in there hay day, right up my alley.
I'm sure I'll do some gambling, although I'm not a big gambler at all.

And is it just me...but do any of you like to check out thrift stores when your in other cities?
I do and my husband think's I'm weird! haha...on our honeymoon we went to Hawaii and I stopped at two thrift stores, but hey I left with some awesome things I kept for myself.
Hmmmm, maybe I'll decide to stop by one in Vegas.

I'll post some pics from our trip next week when I return.

WANT!
Vintage Miu Miu here

Vintage YSL here
Tweed Chanel here
White Moschino Dress here
Not that any of these pieces go together, they are just great finds.

Ohhh and this little red number that I am selling, looks totally different than when I first got it.
It was long and I knew it would be killer if it was shorter...to bad it doesn't fit, but really I don't need
another dress right now, so I guess it was meant to be.

Fashion Icon Friday - Debbie Harry aka Blondie

Some of you know her as Debbie Harry, but most know her as Blondie.
Who doesn't remember - The Tide Is High...?
Most of all, many remember her "two-toned bleach blonde hair", which had an impact on many young woman from the late 70s to the early 80s.
She hungout with Andy Warhol and was a regular at Studio 54.

Deborah Ann "Debbie" Harry (born July 1, 1945) is an American singer–songwriter and actress, most famous for being the lead singer for the New Wave band Blondie. She has also had success as a solo artist, and in the mid-1990s she performed and recorded as part of The Jazz Passengers. Harry also has a successful acting career, with over 30 film roles and several television appearances to her credit.

American Apparel & Street Style London

Street Style London is trying to change the way people view advertising, pretty neat I think.
So here's to paying it forward. Read more here about Street Style London.
When I was in New York this past week, I saw a lady walking down the street with some similiar to these below, the model Emily from London is wearing American Apparel's Riding pants.

Also Happy Earth Day! I hope you all really do recycle. I started recycling about 2 years ago and you can actually see the difference in your trash bag. Half of what we consume comes in plastic or paper. If you rinse out the milk jugs, save the cardboard from the cereal box you just finished, the bottle of wine you just polished off and place all those in a recycling bin, your trash bag will be half empty, I promise.
A new way to look at recycling wine bottles, these wine tumblers are cool!

SJP Vogue & Hats

Have you seen the Vogue May 2010 issue with Sarah Jessica Parker?
I am absoultely loving the vintage frock looks they have her in! The hats, the colors, the location shoot...

An etsy inspired hat that is a bit similar to the SJP photo
Oh and this cute veil hat also!
Now all I need is to find a huge floor sweeping gown(preferably vintage), but I'd have no idea when or where to wear it at...hey a girl can day dream!

Mellow Yellow

Hola. I have returned from New York, it was a bit cold and rainy.
Ate a lot of good food. Shopped waaaay to much. Walked lots. Soaked up some inspiration.
We walked Central Park Sunday since the sun made an appearance for awhile, but still a bit cold.

Thank goodness I took my black leather bomber jacket and purchased a soft color yellow scarf as I was out there,it seemed to get colder as the day went by.
Amazing what a hint of yellow can do to your wardrobe.
Everyone was pretty much wearing black coats, once in awhile you would see color.
I came across a lady wearing a yellow trench coat, she stood out, it was nice to see a pop of color.
Unfortunately I can not wear all yellow or yellow all the time, I'm pale- I need a tan!
So hurry up summer so I can get some sun!

A Hint of Yellow or even ALL Yellow-inspired by New York

p.s. I love my husband for the last minute travel plans to visit NYC.

New York for the weekend

Leaving today to meet my husband in New York for the weekend.
Be back on Monday.
Anyone have any suggestions on some neat places, send them my way- food, vintage, sight seeing...etc.
This is my 4th time visiting NYC and I always leave inspired, but I have to say London and anywhere in Spain are where I get the most inspiration when I travel.

P.S. I have a collection of vintage suitcases in my tv room, we have a travel theme.
Adore vintage suitcases, to bad there not as practical as the ones we use today.
This white one with red lining is gorgeous!

Monday Interweb Window Shopping

Shoes and Necklaces! Yes Please!
Is there a term for window shopping online, I'm sure there is but I just am not familiar with it.
So if you know, please advise me or we can come up with one!

I bought an amazing necklace this weekend, its vintage of course.
I am in love with it and want to wear it with everything. Haha!
Last year as I was shopping for my wedding earrings, I came across it and thought to myself this is so original, no one else has this necklace. So when we returned to the antique shop Saturday it was still there, meant to be-I think so!
It's tribal/global inspired, its a long gold chain and has coral colored beads with small fish hanging from it....soooo cute.

This past week I was also on a hunt for some wedges or sandals, but no luck. I feel like everything looks the same. I was trying to find something different.
When I come across amazing vintage shoes, I want to buy them even if they aren’t my size, just because they are unlike everything out there.
Oh well, the search continues.

I’ll be leaving to New York this coming Thursday, I'm sure I will be inspired and find all kinds of amazing treasures.

Check out these shoes and great statement necklaces that would be great for spring or summer.
Enjoy!
